The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a mandatory annual requirement for U.S. manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense-related products, overseen by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). It governs the manufacture, export, temporary import, and brokering of defense articles, technical data, and defense services listed on the U.S. Munitions List (USML).
